Andalucía has many rivers, lakes and reservoirs where you can go kayaking. The Guadalquivir is the longest river in the Region. It runs for over 600 kilometres, crossing the provinces of Sevilla, Córdoba and Jaén, and there are kayaking trips organised on many sections.
Kayaking has a deep-rooted tradition in Andalucía. In Cádiz province, each year sees the descent of the Palmones river or río de las Cañas (open to all). You can also do the Olive Oil Route by kayak, from Écija to Sanlúcar de Barrameda, as well as the kayak rally on Membrillo Beach, Puente Genil.

Canoeing is the right sport to discover the coastline around Chiclana.

For example, the Castle of Sancti Petri on a small island in front of the beach can be reached from the port with kayaks.

Every year in July hundreds of canoes and kayaks meet in the Sports Port of Sancti Petri for their own special "holiday of the canoe".

While kayaking in Sancti Petri area you can enjoy the wonders of the Natural Park la Bahía de Cádiz, where you can explore the marshes, mazes inaccessible to other boats and see the large number of waterfowl that inhabit it: gulls, egrets, herons, cormorants, storks.
